IWE One Night Stand was a professional wrestling produced annually in June by International Wrestling Entertainment (IWE), a Connecticut–based promotion; it was broadcast live and available only through pay-per-view (PPV). The event's name refers to its original format, that being a one night reunion show for former Xtreme Championship Wrestling (XCW) alumni. The event was first announced in 2005, just as IWE released The Rise and Fall of XCW documentary–DVD, although Paul Heyman, KGM and Tommy Brown all assisted in having the concept approved by the IWE board. For the first two shows, the event remained strictly to the reunion format and was promoted under the XCW acronym; however, after IWE launched their own version of XCW (from 2006 until 2010) as a Brand Extension to Meltdown and Fusion, the 2007 event and onwards was promoted under the IWE acronym and added it to the regular lineup of annual IWE pay-per-view events In 2009, IWE renamed the One Night Stand event to IWE Extreme Rules. The 2009 Extreme Rules event was noted by IWE to be a direct continuation of the One Night Stand chronology. However, the 2010 event was later promoted as only the second event under a new chronology, one that is no longer a direct continuation of the One Night Stand event.
