Backlash (2002) was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by the International Wrestling Federation (IWF) promotion, which took place on April 21, 2002 at Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Missouri. The event starred talent from the Meltdown and Fusion! brands. It was the fourth event under the Backlash chronology and the final Backlash under the IWF name. This was the first WWE pay-per-view event after the Brand Extension. Nine professional wrestling matches were scheduled on the event's card.

The main match from the Fusion! brand featured Hollywood Hulk Hogan defeating Triple K to win the IWF Undisputed Championship and the featured match from the Meltdown brand was an encounter between Martin McAlmond and Steve Johnson with Ric Flair as special guest referee, which Martin McAlmond won. The other main match from Meltdown was a Singles match for the IWF Intercontinental Championship between Kyle Van Johnson and Brian McAlmond, which Brian McAlmond won by pinfall to win the championship.

The event featured nine professional wrestling matches with outcomes predetermined by IWF script writers. The matches featured wrestlers portraying their characters in planned storylines that took place before, during and after the event. All wrestlers were from either one of the IWF's brands - Fusion or Meltdown - the two storyline divisions in which IWF assigned its employees.
